TEXAS <br />WEDNESDAY. SEPTEMBER 11. 2006 <br />12:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br /> <br />1. The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by <br />Chairman Arvin Starrett at 12:01 P.M. <br /> <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Arvin Starrett, Chairman <br />Paul Denney <br />Sharon Nabors <br />Susan Scholz <br /> <br />The following members were absent: <br />Ann Rogers <br />Nancy Partridge <br />Pike Burkhart <br />Alternate: Vanessa Preston <br />Brian Wear <br /> <br />B. Also present was Lisa Wright, Historic Preservation Officer; Bethany <br />Golden, Asst. HPO; and Todd Varner, Code Inspector.. <br /> <br />2. Consideration of and action on the following Certificates of Appropriateness: <br /> <br />A. 1351st Street S.E. . City of Paris. Todd Varner spoke on behalf of the <br />City of Paris regarding the COA, Prior to the meeting, there has been <br />a partial removal of the awning on the building behind the Council <br />Chambers due to a safety issue-a trash truck backed over the pedestal <br />and knocked a corner out and it was about to fall down. The first 17 <br />feet of the awning was removed making it flush with the rest of the <br />building. Almost all of the pipe fencing around the parking lot is gone <br />except the small section of fence between the back of the buildings and <br />businesses on Clarksville Street that was feft for safety measures. The <br />City is proposing a wooden privacy fence down the alley at the back of <br />the City Attorney Building, about 119' down to the corner of Church <br />Street putting a partition between the parking lotand the businesses on <br />Clarksville Street. The City is planning on a wooden clear cedar fence, <br />which is high quality fencing. Also proposed is the placement of <br />
