<br />Paris Visitors & Convention Council <br />Minutes of the Meeting <br />May 1, 2006 <br /> <br />Present: Gail Dority, Roy Gwim1, Helen Short, Karen Wilkerson, <br />Mike Patterson, Mary Lou Coe, Jon McFadden, Bobby Walters, <br />Richard Manning, Becky Semple, Gary Vest, Dr. William Hayden, <br />and Jamie Fussell. <br />Chairman Richard Manning called the meeting to order at 4:30 PM. <br />Chairman Manning welcomed Dr. William Hayden, representing the <br />Lamar County Historical Society Museum and Jamie FusseII from the <br />Paris News. <br />Gary Vest gave the financial report for the month ending March 31, <br />2006. The financials were approved on a motion by Bobby Walters, <br />seconded by Mary Lou Coe. <br />Unfinished Business: None <br />New Business: 1. There was an events funding request by the North <br />Texas Region Horseless Carriage Club of America for $550.00 to <br />assist their event on June 22/ 23/ and 24/ 2006. The request was <br />granted on a motion by Mary Lou Coe, seconded by Roy Gwinn. <br />2. Dr. William Hayden and Bobby Walters presented a request for the <br />V &CC to help with ongoing funding of the new Lamar County <br />Historical Society Museum. Gary Vest reviewed the financial <br />commitments of the V &CC concluding an available amount of <br />revenue under the current budget of $3,428.58. Bobby Walters made <br />a motion that we commit $3,400 under the current budget to the <br />Museum with a budget approval amendment by the Paris City <br />Council and then place an amount of $3/500 in the 2007 and <br />subsequent budgets for the Museum.
