Paris Visitors and Convention Council Lamar County Chamber of Commerce Meeting Minutes Monday, September 25,2006 A special called meeting of the members of the Paris Visitors and Convention Council was held on Monday, September 25, 2006 at 11 :00 AM in the Community Room of the Chamber of Commerce, with Richard Manning, Chairman, presiding. PRESENT George Kimbrough Mary Ann Fisher Bobby Walters Gail Dority Becky Semple Mike Patterson Roy Gwinn Emily O'Connor Mary Lou Coe Richard Manning Suzy Harper Tony Williams Helen Short Mindy Moree Brady Fisher ABSENT Dave Johnson Tim Masters Jon McFadden Also in attendance was: Jamie Fussell with the Paris News. Richard Manning reported that the City Council had questions about the Contract for the ASA (Archery Shooters Association) stating that the City of Paris was responsible for the funding of the Pro-Am Tour in March of2007, and that Richard Manning had signed the contract as Mayor. Mr. Manning also reported that a new contract was written simply stating that the Visitors and Convention Council was responsible for the Pro-Am shoot and that he would sign the contract as V &CC Chairman. The correction on contract should eliminate any concerns that the City of Paris would be responsible for this event. Mindy Moree explained to the Board that $16,000 had been added to our 2007 budget to bring the ASA Pro Am Tour as well as other events to Paris. Mrs. Moree also stated that in talking with the Illinois Chamber about the Archery shoot in Metropolis, they stated that they allowed $12,000 in their budget, but spent under that amount. Bobby Walters made a motion to approve the ASA contract the motion passed on a second by Mary Lou Coe. Richard Manning signed the new contract in the meeting as Chairman of V & CC. r"
