The Commission moved back to Item <br />3-8. Motion was made to recuse Arvin Starrett and Paul Denney by <br />Brian Wear, seconded by Pike Burkhart. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br />B. 322 Lamar Avenue - First United Methodist Church - Paul Denney <br />presented information regarding the COA. He stated that there are two <br />playgrounds that need canopies over them to keep the sun out. The <br />color of the canopies will match the building so that they will appear to <br />disappear. Motion was made to approve the COA by Brian Wear, <br />seconded by Ann Rogers. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br />Motion was made for Arvin Starrett and Paul Denney to return to the <br />meeting by Pike Burkhart, seconded by Brian Wear. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br />D. 504 Lamar Avenue - Jerry and Eva Tacuyan - Motion was made to <br />approve the COA by Paul Denney, seconded by Nancy Partridge. <br />Motion carried 7-0. <br /> <br />The Commission moved to item 6-A to accommodate Mr. Tacuyan. <br /> <br />6. Consideration of and action on recommending approval of the following <br />requests for tax exemption: <br /> <br />A. 504 Lamar Avenue - Jerry and Eva Tacuyan - Motion was made to <br />approve the tax exemption by Pike Burkhart, seconded by Nancy <br />Partridge. Motion carried 7-0. <br /> <br />The Commission moved back to Item 3-E. <br /> <br />3. Consideration of and action on the following Certificates of Appropriateness: <br /> <br />E. 929 S. Main Street - Sybil K. Colson and Philip M. Wells - Ms. Colson <br />advised the Commission that they are proposing a 30" x 48" sign to be <br />placed at the front of the property. Motion was made to approve the <br />COA by Paul Denney, seconded by Susan Scholz. Motion carried 7-0. <br /> <br />4. Consideration of and action on awarding the following facade grant: <br /> <br />A. 3 S. Plaza - Matthew Coyle - Motion was made to approve the facade <br />grant by Brian Wear, seconded by Susan Scholz. Motion carried 7-0. <br /> <br />----- CONSENT AGENDA ----- <br />
