<br />DRAFT <br /> <br />f:attorney\reswork\current\Appt - V &CC - 2006 <br />November 28, 2006 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS, REAPPOINTING MARY ANN FISHER AS A MEMBER OF <br />THE VISITORS AND CONVENTION COUNCIL OF THE CHAMBER OF <br />COMMERCE OF LAMAR COUNTY; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND <br />PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council ofthe City of Paris did heretofore, in Resolution No. 90- <br />026, on the 12th day of March, 1990, authorize the execution of a contract with the Chamber <br />of Commerce of Lamar County, Inc. providing for the use of hotel occupancy tax funds to <br />promote and advertise the City of Paris; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Chamber of Commerce created the Visitors and Convention Council <br />to carry out its contractual obligations to administer the use of said hotel occupancy tax funds; <br />and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor, the one Council Member herein appointed, and the City <br />Manager are full, voting members of the Visitors and Convention Council; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the term of office of Council Member Mary Ann Fisher, as a member of <br />the Visitors and Convention Council of the Chamber of Commerce of Lamar County, will <br />expire on December 31,2006; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Paris has reappointed Mary Ann Fisher for a term <br />of two (2) years, beginning January 1,2007, and ending December 31, 2008, and has submitted <br />the name of such person to the City Council for confirmation; NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things <br />approved. <br /> <br />Section 2. That the reappointment of Mary Ann Fisher, as a member of the Visitors and <br />Convention Council of the Chamber of Commerce of Lamar County, for a term of two (2) <br />years, beginning January 1,2007, and ending December 31, 2008, be, and the same is hereby, <br />confirmed. <br /> <br />Section 3.
