Won't we be impeding Texas's economic growth if we don't build these plants now, as
proposed?

No. We believe Texas will grow faster if it's a leader in innovative technology and
environmental protection. People want to live in, and businesses want to move to, a place
with a reputation for clean air and responsible environmental planning.

Building plants that don't use the cleanest technology, or that unnecessarily harm air
quality and the environment, is not the path to growth and progress. The best solution for
Texas's economic growth is to meet our power needs in a way that fully accounts for the
long-term environmental costs, and sets a positive example for the rest of the world.

10

m. ....__.._~.._.-------r-........._....---r--...._.
