<br />ORDINANCE NO. 2006-045 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF <br />THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, BE AMENDED BY REVISING <br />SECTION 5-2, RUNNING AT LARGE, OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING FOR <br />THE RESTRICTION OF DOGS WALKING ON DESIGNATED WALKING <br />TRACKS AND OTHER PUBLIC PLACES IN THE CITY OF PARIS; <br />PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR <br />PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; MAKING OTHER <br />FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />Section 1. That Section 5-2 ofthe Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, <br />be, and the same is hereby, amended so that such shall read as follows: <br /> <br />"Sec. 5-2. Running at large or walking upon designated walking tracks and <br />other public places in the City of Paris prohibited. <br /> <br />It shall be unlawful for any person owning or keeping any animal to suffer <br />or permit such animal to run at large upon the public streets, avenues, alleys, <br />parks or other public property of the City, or to suffer or permit any animal to run <br />at large or go upon any premises owned or in the possession of any other person <br />in the City. It shall also be unlawful for any person to walk, suffer, or permit any <br />dog to walk or to run, with or without a leash, rope, chain, tether, or harness, <br />upon any public walking trail or track or upon any public bicycle trail or track. <br />This prohibition includes the Trails DeParis, Oak Park Walking Track, or any <br />other public walking or bicycle trail or track in the City of Paris, as well as the <br />City of Paris Sports Complex at Love Civic Center, the softball fields at Wise <br />Field, the City of Paris Municipal Swimming Pool, Culbertson Park softball <br />fields and tennis courts, and any other City of Paris sports fields. The Dragon <br />Park Walking Track will be the only exception to this prohibition and will be <br />designated the only walking track in the City of Paris permitting the walking of <br />dogs on the track. " <br /> <br />Section 2. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty <br />of a Misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be fined in accordance with Section 1-6 of the <br />Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Texas, and each and every day's continuance of any <br />violation of the above-enumerated section shall constitute and be deemed a separate offense. <br /> <br />Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly <br />repealed. <br />
