Discussion of and possible action regarding the following structures considered by code inspectors to be in violation of Article III of Chapter 7 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, entitled IISubstandard and Dangerous Buildings and Structures," to determine whether such buildings or structures can be rehabilitated and designated on the National Register of Historic Places, as a recorded Texas Historic Landmark, or as historic property as designated by the City Council of the City of Paris: A. 756 6th Street N. W. B. 674 13th Street N. W. C. 1400 block W. Washington D. 2600 block Clark Lane E. 3220 Lamar Avenue F. 2925 Lamar Avenue G. 351 1~ Street N.E. Motion was made by Susan Scholz, seconded by Brian Wear, to send all except (E), 3220 Lamar Avenue, to the Building and Standards Commission for demolition since they cannot be rehabilitated nor do they have significant historical value. Motion carried 7-0. Sharron Nabors requested that (E) be discussed separately. Chairman Starrett reminded the Commissioners that it was only the job of HPC to determine whether a structure would be eligible as a landmark, not whether or not the house was not bad enough to demolish. The latter is the job of BSC only. It was the consensus of the Commissioners that (E) does not meet the architectural standard of a landmark. Sharon Nabors stated she hates to see a nice house go down. Motion was made by Susan Scholz, seconded by Brian Wear, to send (E) to BSC for review since it does not have significant historical value. Motion carried 7-0. 5.
