RESOLUTION N0. 2001-039 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />TEXAS, APPROVING ADDENDUM N0. ONE TO THE CONTRACT <br />BETWEEN THE CITY OF PARIS AND THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE <br />OF LAMAR COUNTY, INC. REGARDING MAINTAINING A VISITORS <br />AND CONVENTION COUNCIL FOR THE PURPOSE OF MANAGING THE <br />MUNICIPAL HOTEL OCCUPANCY TAX FUND; MAKING OTHER <br />FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris, (the "City") and the Chamber of Commerce of Lamar <br />County, Inc. (the Chamber) entered into a contract dated December 12, 2005 for the purpose <br />of maintaining a Visitors and Convention Council to manage the City's Hotel Occupancy Tax <br />Fund to promote tourism, convention and hotel industry business in the City of Paris (hereinafter <br />the "Agreement"); and, <br />WHEREAS, the parties to the Agreement have mutually agreed to revise paragraph 7 <br />of the Agreement to conform to Section 351.101 of the Texas Tax Code; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris has reviewed the proposed Addendum <br />No. One to the Agreement, attached hereto as Exhibit A, and finds it to be in the best interest <br />of the City of Paris and its citizens and should be, in all things approved, and the Mayor should <br />be authorized to execute the same; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF PARIS, TEXAS: <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble of this resolution are hereby in all <br />things approved. <br />Section 2. That Addendum No. One to the Agreement, attached hereto as Exhibit A, is <br />in the best interest of the City of Paris and its citizens and the same is hereby, approved. <br />Section 3. That the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on <br />behalf of the City of Paris, Addendum No. One ,under the terms and conditions and <br />substantially in the form shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto. <br />Section 4. That this resolution shall be effective from and after the date of passage. <br />
