<br />Paris Public Library Advisory Board <br />Minutes of the Regular Meeting <br />February 21, 2007 <br /> <br />The Paris Public Library Advisory Board met in regular session Wednesday afternoon, February 21,2007, at 4 <br />o'clock at City Hall. Chairman Bill Kennedy called the meeting to order. Other members in attendance were <br />Fran Neeley, Deborah Hatley, Jake Street, Audrey Lakes, Debbie Anderson, Jackie Alsobrook, and Hilda <br />Mallory. Also in attendance was Priscilla McAnally, Library Director, and Amanda Green, President of Friends <br />of the Paris Public Library. <br /> <br />On a motion by Jackie Alsobrook, the minutes of the December meeting were approved as printed. (There was <br />no January meeting due to weather.) <br /> <br />New children's librarian Tracy Hoffart was introduced. <br /> <br />Proposed computer workstation guidelines were distributed with suggestions for these changes: <br />1) Lower the fee for the visitor card from $5 to $3. <br />2) A parent must be present with children under the age of 12. <br />3) Users will be limited to 3 hours per day. <br />4) Add to penalties for misuse of the computers/internet: <br />a. First offense: revocation of privileges for 3 months. <br />b. Second offense: revocation of privileges for 6 months. <br />c. Third offense: permanent revocation of privileges. <br /> <br />If approved by the City Attorney, the circulation policy will go into effect April 1 . <br /> <br />The advisory board was asked to be thinking of the long range plan. Several suggestions were made. <br /> <br />Estimates are still being received for carpeting the library. <br /> <br />There were no unusual items in the budget. The statistical report will be reviewed at a later date. <br /> <br />Amanda Green gave the Friends report. The dinner at Crabtree's was well-attended. The book sale is scheduled <br />for Saturday, February 24, from 9 to 2. The spring luncheon with entertainment by PIC's Encore will be <br />Friday, April 27. Glass frames will be bought for the display recognizing major donors to the library. <br /> <br />There being no further business, the chairman adjourned the meeting at 4:25 p.m. <br /> <br />~~ <br /> <br />Debbie Anderson, Secretary <br />
