<br />Paris Economic Development Corporation <br />Meeting Minutes <br />April 16, 2007 <br /> <br />Board Members <br />Present: Sims Norment <br />Glen Bawcum <br />Rodney Bass <br />Dick Severson <br />John Wright <br /> <br />Staff Present: Pete Kampfer <br />Mindy Moree <br /> <br />Ex-officio Members <br />Present: Richard Manning <br />Kent McIlyar <br />Chuck Superville <br /> <br />Guest <br />Present: <br /> <br />Charles Waldrum <br />Laurie O'Neal <br />Rodney Pollard <br /> <br />President Sims Norment called the meeting to order at 4:08 P.M. <br /> <br />Minutes from the March 21, 2007 meeting were unanimously approved on a <br />motion made by Glen Bawcum seconded by Rodney Bass. <br /> <br />Pete Kampfer reported on the financial report for the month of March 2007. <br />On a motion made by Dick Severson seconded by Glen Bawcum the financial report was <br />approved unanimously. <br /> <br />Pete Kampfer gave a brief report on the following: new web site and branding <br />efforts; industrial park clustering plan; future PEDC board workshop; TEDC's 2007 best <br />practices award for the City of Paris; new clerical staffhire; Sulphur River Regional <br />Mobility initiative; and workforce development and expansion projects. <br /> <br />New Business: Pete Kampfer gave a brief report on the Base Line Study, strategic <br />plan and community development study via Texas A & M. <br /> <br />Mr. Kampfer reported on the letter from TxDOT requesting assistance for funding <br />for the widening ofDS 82 East and 271 South. County Judge Chuck Superville reported <br />that the financial need was $311,000 for the right of way construction. Judge Superville <br />asked the PEDC board to consider on a future agenda item to help with funding the <br />highway projects. Pete Kampfer reported he would be in contact with TxDOT to gather <br />the information needed. In addition, he will study whether our City 4a tax can be used in <br />this manner. <br /> <br />,.. ~ ~., <br />
