<br />DRAFT <br /> <br />f:attorney\resswork\current\dECLARING Surplus-Stt Bonham Property Res <br />June 28, 2007 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />TEXAS, DECLARING AS SURPLUS THAT PROPERTY LOCATED AT 811 <br />BONHAM STREET (FORMER POLICE AND COURTS BUILDING), ALSO <br />KNOWN AS LOTS 3 & 4, CITY BLOCK 127, WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS <br />OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS; AUTHORIZING THE APPRAISAL, <br />SURVEY, AND ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR THE AFORESAID <br />PROPERTY; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED <br />TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris has identified that property currently owned by the City and <br />located at 811 Bonham Street (former police and courts building), also known as Lots 3 & 4, City <br />Block 127, as property no longer required or needed by the City of Paris; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris desires to designate the aforesaid property <br />as surplus and to solicit competitive bids for the sale of said property in accordance with state law; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF PARIS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things <br />approved. <br /> <br />Section 2. That the real property owned by the City of Paris and located at 811 Bonham <br />Street (former police and courts building), also known as Lots 3 & 4, City Block 127, shall be and <br />is hereby declared to be of no further use to the City of Paris and is hereby declared to be surplus. <br /> <br />Section 3. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized, and directed to obtain an <br />appraisal and survey of the property, and to solicit competitive bids for the sale of the aforesaid <br />property, in accordance with state law and the city charter, and to return to the City Council for its <br />consideration the aforesaid bids to award the sale of the aforesaid property to the highest bidder on <br />such terms and conditions as shall be in the best interest of the City or to reject all bids if an <br />appropriate offer is not received. <br /> <br />Section 4.
