<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
<br />TEXAS, ACCEPTING A GRANT AWARD FROM THE TEXAS
<br />HISTORICAL COMMISSION, CERTIFIED LOCAL GOVERNMENT
<br />DIVISION, FOR A CERTIFIED LOCAL GOVERNMENT (CLG) GRANT IN
<br />THE AMOUNT OF $15,000 FOR PHASE III OF THE UPDATED HISTORIC
<br />RESOURCE SURVEY OF THE CITY OF PARIS AS IT RELATES TO
<br />INDUSTRIAL PROPERTIES; ACCEPTING THE PROPOSAL OF
<br />ARCHITEXAS FOR COMPLETION OF SAID PHASE III SURVEY AND
<br />AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
<br />AGREEMENT; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS
<br />RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
<br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris Historic Preservation Commission has previously
<br />recommended to the City Council of the City of Paris that grant applications be submitted to the
<br />Texas Historical Commission seeking grant assistance to perform an updated survey of historic
<br />resources within the city of Paris; and,
<br />WHEREAS, the Texas Historical Commission did heretofore, on June 1, 2004, award to the
<br />City of Paris a Certified Local Government (CLG) Grant in the amount of $5,700.00 to fund Phase
<br />I of the updated historic resource survey as it relates to commercial properties, with a $3,800.00 cash
<br />match which was provided by the Lennox Foundation, and, as of September 30, 2005,
<br />ARCHITEXAS has completed said Phase I; and,
<br />WHEREAS, the Texas Historical Commission did heretofore, on February 15, 2005, award
<br />the City of Paris a Certified Local Government (CLG) Grant in the amount of $7,500.00 to fund
<br />Phase II of the updated historic resource survey as it relates to residential properties, with a
<br />$5,000.00 cash match, and, as of September 30, 2006, ARCHITEXAS has completed said Phase II;
<br />and,
<br />WHEREAS, the Texas Historical Commission has awarded the City of Paris a Certified
<br />Local Government (CLG) Grant in the amount of $15,000.00 to fund Phase III of the updated
<br />historic resource survey as it relates to industrial properties, with a $6,000.00 cash match, and it is
<br />deemed appropriate that the City of Paris accept such award and continue to complete the update to
<br />the survey of historic resources in Paris; and,
<br />WHEREAS, it is further deemed appropriate that the Mayor be authorized to execute the
<br />professional services agreement with ARCHITEXAS for a Phase III Survey of the updated historic
<br />resource survey, under the terms and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto;
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
<br />OF PARIS, TEXAS:
<br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things
<br />approved.
<br />Section 2. That the City of Paris hereby accepts the grant award from the Texas Historical
<br />Commission, Certified Local Government Division, for a Certified Local Government (CLG) Grant
<br />in the amount of $15,000.00 to fund Phase III of the updated historic resource survey as it relates to
<br />industrial properties, with $9,000.00 to be provided by grant and $6,000.00 to be provided by cash
<br />match.
