" <br /> <br />From: <br /> <br />Date: <br /> <br />Subject: <br /> <br />SCBA Recommendation for Purchase <br /> <br />We have reviewed the bids submitted for FD purchase of the Scott NxG2 SCBA breathing <br />apparatus. Bids specifications were mailed to those venders listed in the FD BID LIST (a copy <br />is provided on the last page of the "INVITATION FOR BIDS"document - marked (0) and <br />request for bid advertisements were placed in the-Paris News. <br /> <br />On the bid opening date of June 19,2007, (3) official bids were received and those bids were <br />tabulated (note "BID TABULATION" - marked (ID). After review, the FD recommends <br />purchase of SCBA apparatus from Wayest Safety, Inc., which submitted the bid with the most <br />significant cost savings (See "BID FORM" - marked <ID). <br /> <br />I am hereby formally requesting that this mater be included on the agenda for the <br />August 13, 2007 City Council meeting. <br /> <br />I also request that the Paris Fire Department be allowed to purchase said SCBA, subject to City <br />Council approval. '. <br /> <br />Purchase of SCBA is vitally important to the continued safety and success of our firefighters and <br />operations and is another step in the overall process of making the transition from antiquated and <br />non-NFP A compliant SCBA to a model which is. <br /> <br />Also be aware that this is a combined effort for SCBA purchase including the PFD, the <br />Water/Sewer Department, and the Water Treatment Department (See copy of email from DC <br />Don Howell for "BREAKDOWN" - marked @).
