DRAFT RESOLUTION NO. f:attorney\resworklcurrentISchool Resource ofcr 2007-2008 Res PISD August 6, 2007 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH PARIS INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR PROVISION OF SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER SERVICES; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Paris Independent School District has requested School Resource Officer services at PISD campuses, and the City Council is agreeable to providing such service; and, WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 791 of the Texas Government Code, governmental entities may contract with each other to provide governmental functions or services; and, WHEREAS, the form of the Interlocal Agreement, attached hereto as Exhibit A, should, in all things, be approved, and the Mayor of the City of Paris should be authorized to execute the same; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS: . Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the form of the Interlocal Agreement with the Paris Independent School District, for School Resource Officer services at PISD campuses, attached hereto as Exhibit A, be, and the same is hereby, approved. Section 3. That the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, the Interlocal Agreement with the Paris Independent School District, under the terms and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto.
