Draft RESOLUTION NO. f:attorneylreswork\current\Budget Amendment Hearing Resolution 2007 September 4, 2007 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, CALLING A PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE PROPOSED BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2007-2008; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, in accordance with Sec. 1 02.005( a) ofthe Local Government Code, the Interim City Manager filed his proposed budget for the City of Paris Fiscal Year 2007-2008, with the City Clerk of the City of Paris on the 16th day of August, 2007; and, WHEREAS, the Interim City Manager of the City of Paris submitted the Budget for the City of Paris for Fiscal Year 2007-2008 to the City Council, at special session convened on the 20th day of August, 2007; and, WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 50 of the City Charter, a public hearing was held on September 5,2007, at which all interested persons were allowed to speak in favor or against any proposed budget item; and, WHEREAS, an appropriate time for said public hearing is found to be the _ day of September, 2007, at 6:00 p.m.; WHEREAS, at this public hearing, the City Council decided to add/increase certain items to the 2007-08 Budget necessitating the need for a second public hearing; and, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That a public hearing is called for the _ day of September, 2007, at 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chamber, 107 E. Kaufman Street, Paris, Texas, for the purpose of hearing written and oral comments from the citizens of the City of Paris concerning the proposed amendments to the proposed annual budget for fiscal year beginning October 1,2007, and ending September 30, 2008; and, Section 3. That the City Clerk of the City of Paris publish notice of said public hearing in the Paris News on the _ day of September, 2007, setting forth the time and place of said public hearing, which public hearing date is no sooner than the tenth (10th) day after said publication date.
