RESOLUTION N0. 2007-100 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, ADDING ONE (1) ADDITIONAL BOARD MEMBER POSITION TO THE AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD FOR A TOTAL MEMBERSHIP OF EIGHT (8) MEMBERS AND APPOINTING BILLY COPELAND AS A MEMBER TO THE BOARD; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, on January 12,1970, the City Council of the City of Paris passed Resolution No. 1354, establishing an Airport Advisory Board to act in an advisory capacity to the City Council in relation to the Municipal Airport and its operation and facilities, which Board originally consisted of seven members; and, WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is in the best interest of the City of Paris and its citizens to add one (1) additional board member to the Airport Advisory Board so that the Board shall now consist of a chairman and seven (7) regular members and that the members shall serve staggered two (2) year terms; and, WHEREAS, it has been recommended that Billy Copeland be appointed to serve in the new position to the Airport Advisory Board for a term beginning immediately and expiring December 31, 2009 and should be approved; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That one (1) additional board member position shall be created for the Airport Advisory Board, revising the membership of the Board to consist of a chairman and seven (7) regular members, each to serve a term of two (2) years. Section 3. That the term of office for this new position shall be for two (2) years beginning immediately and expiring December 31, 2009. Section 4. That Billy Copeland be, and he is hereby, appointed to serve as a member to the Airport Advisory Board for a term beginning immediately and ending December 31, 2009. Section 5. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.
