RESOLUTION N0. 2007-099
<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
<br />TEXAS, APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION
<br />COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PARIS, MAKING OTHER FINDINGS
<br />AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING FOR
<br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
<br />WHEREAS, the terms of office of Paul Denney (Architect), Ann R. Rogers (Member-At-
<br />Large),Arvin W. Starrett (Historical Society), and Pike Burkhart (Main Street Board), as members
<br />of the Historic Preservation Commission of the City of Paris, expired on July 31, 2007; and,
<br />WHEREAS, the term of office of Brian Wear, as an alternate member of the Historic
<br />Preservation Commission of the City of Paris, expired on July 31, 2007; and,
<br />WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Paris does hereby recommend the reappointment of
<br />Paul Denney (Architect), Ann R. Rogers (Member-At-Large), Arvin W. Starrett (Historical Society),
<br />and Pike Burkhart (Main Street Board), as members of the Historical Preservation Commission, and
<br />the appointment of Jerry Raper, as an alternate member, for terms of two (2) years, beginning
<br />approximately August 1, 2007, and ending July 31, 2009; and,
<br />WHEREAS, the Mayor of the city of Paris does also recommend the appointment of Ben
<br />Vaughn as an alternate member to fill the unexpired term of Vanessa Preston whose term expires
<br />July 31, 2008.
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
<br />OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS:
<br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things
<br />approved.
<br />Section 2. That Paul Denney (Architect), Ann R. Rogers (Member-At-Large), Arvin W.
<br />Starrett (Historical Society), and Pike Burkhart (Main Street Board) be, and they are hereby,
<br />reappointed to serve as members of the Historic Preservation Commission of the City of Paris for
<br />terms of two (2) years, beginning approximately August 1, 2007, and ending July 31, 2009.
<br />Section 3. That Jerry Raper be, and he is hereby appointed to serve as an alternate member
<br />of the Historic Preservation Commission of the City of Paris for a term of two (2) years, beginning
<br />approximately August 1, 2007, and ending July 31, 2009.
<br />Section 4. That Ben Vaughn be, and he is hereby appointed as an alternate member of the
<br />Historic Preservation Commission of the City of Paris to fill the unexpired term of Vanessa Preston
<br />which expires July 31, 2008.
<br />Section 5. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.
