ORDINANCE N0. 2007-037 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE TRAFFIC CONTROL MAP ADOPTED IN <br />SECTION 31-65 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, TEXAS; ESTABLISHING NO PARKING AREAS ON THE <br />WEST SIDE OF SE lst STREET IN THE 300 BLOCK, LOCATED.ON <br />EACH SIDE OF THE DRIVEWAY AT THE REAR OF CHURCH OF <br />THE HOLY CROSS WHICH IS LOCATED ON 322 SOUTH CHURCH <br />STREET; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED <br />TO THE SUBJECT; PROVIDING FOR A REPEALER CLAUSE, A <br />SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, A SAVINGS CLAUSE, A PENALTY <br />CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the Church of the Holy Cross, located at 322 South Church Street has a <br />narrow drive that enters from SE 1 St Street and provides access to the rear of the church and <br />the offices in which many of the elderly parishioners use; and, <br />WHEREAS, there is concern for the vehicles parked on the west side of the street <br />being struck by persons attempting to back out of this narrow drive and there is a request to <br />establish a no parking area 30 feet long centered on the drive with parking prohibited Monday <br />through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the west curb line of SE ls' Street; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />GITY OF PARIS, TEXAS: <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this ordinance are hereby in all <br />things approved. <br />Section 2. That the Traffic Control Map adopted in Section 31-65 (b) of the Code of <br />Ordinances of the City of Paris, Texas, be, and the same is hereby, amended to include the <br />following No Parking area: <br />"On the west curb line of SE lst Street in the 300 block, 30 feet long <br />centered on the drive located at the rear entrance of Church of the Holy <br />Cross, located at 322 S. Church St." <br />Section 2. That all provisions of the ordinances of the City of Paris, Texas in conflict <br />with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed, and all other provisions of the <br />ordinances of the City of Paris not in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance shall remain <br />in full force and effect. <br />Section 3. That the repeal of any ordinance or part of ordinances affected by the <br />enactment of this ordinance shall not be construed as abandoning any action now pending <br />under or by virtue of such ordinance or as discontinuing, abating, modifying, or altering any <br />
