RESOLUTION N0. 2007-132 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS; AUTHORIZING AN EXPENDITURE OF $72,264.00 WITH PUMPS UNLIMITED, INC. TO REPAIR THE 6,000 GALLON PER MINUTE VERTICAL TURBINE PUMP USED TO PUMP WATER FROM LAKE PAT MAYSE TO THE CITY'S WATER TREATMENT PLANT; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the 6,000 gallon per minute vertical turbine pump used to pump water from lake Pat Mayse to the City's water treatment plant is in need of repair; and, WHEREAS, the cost to repair the pump and component parts and return it to service is $72,264.00; and, WHEREAS, this expenditure is exempt from competitive bidding as a procurement necessary to preserve and protect the public health and safety in accordance with Sec. 252.022(a)(2) Texas Local Government Code. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, THAT: Section 1. The findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. The expenditure of $72,264.00 with Pumps Unlimited, Inc., a division of Courreges Pump Company to repair the 6,000 gallons per minute vertical turbine pump used to pump water from lake Pat Mayse to the City's water treatment plant for distribution to City customers be, and is hereby approved.
