ORDINANCE NO. 2007-052: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, AMENDING ARTICLE II OF CHAPTER 18 OF THE PARIS CODE OF ORDINANCES BY ADDING NEW SECTIONS 18-25 AUTHORIZATION FOR CODE INSPECTORS TO ISSUE CITATIONS, AND 18-26 FAILURE TO APPEAR; PROVIDING AUTHORIZATION FOR CODE INSPECTORS TO ISSUE CITATIONS AND CREATING THE OFFENSE OF FAILURE TO APPEAR; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; PROVIDING A REPEALER CLAUSE, A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, A SAVINGS CLAUSE, A PENALTY CLAUSE; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. A Motion to approve this item was made by Council Member Brown and seconded by Council Member Biard. Council Member Fisher asked if code enforcement was going to issue citations without giving citizens a warning. Lisa Wright said that would not be the case and that the citizen would first receive a letter giving him or her ten days notice to clean up the property. Ms. Wright said the purpose for this ordinance was to address repeat offenders, not for first or second time violators. Motion carried, 6 ayes - 1 nay, with Council Member Fisher casting the dissenting vote. F. AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE TRAFFIC CONTROL MAP FOR THE CITY OF PARIS AS ADOPTED BY SECTION 31-65(b) OF THE PARIS CODE OF ORDINANCES, TO REMOVE A TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNAL AT THE INTERSECTION OF NORTH MAIN STREET (BU271) & PROVINE STREET; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; PROVIDING A REPEALER CLAUSE, A SAVINGS CLAUSE, A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
