A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF $37,727.64 TO W A VEST SAFETY, INC. FOR THE PURCHASE OF SELF-CONTAINED BREATHING APPARATUSES (SCBA) FOR USE IN THE FIRE DEPARTMENT; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, it has been determined that the City of Paris Fire Department is in need of additional SCBA units for the firefighters; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 17th day of September, 2007, in Ordinance No. 2007-029, authorize the purchase of Self-Contained Breathing Apparatuses (SCBA) for use in the Fire Department; and, WHEREAS, the best price for the City was from Wayest Safety, Inc. of Fomey, Texas as shown on the attached price tabulation. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble of this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the quote of Wayest Safety, Inc. for the Self-Contained Breathing Apparatuses in the amount of $3,958.56 per unit and $592.00 per extra cylinder, and $269.44 for V oice Amplifiers with brackets, be, and the same is hereby, accepted as the lowest price which provides the best value to the City (see Bid Tabulation attached hereto as Exhibit A), conditioned upon said (SCBA) meeting all of the terms and specifications included in the bid documents. Section 3. That the expenditure of $37,727.04 for the purchase of additional SCBA equipment be, and the same is hereby approved. Section 4.
