MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE MAIN STREET ADVISORY BOARD May 15, 2007 City Hall Council Chambers 107 East Kaufman Street 4:00 p.m. A meeting of the members of the Paris Main Street Advisory Board was held Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at 4:00 p.m., at City Hall Council Chambers. PRESENT: Jennifer Long (Vice Chairman) Lisa House Karol Lyn Moore Pike Burkhart Zach Saffle Cindy Allcorn Zach Saffle ABSENT: Linda Knox Casey Rose Walt Brown Drew Crawford Minutes February 26,' 2007 and March 20, 2007 minutes were reviewed by board members and a motion was made by Zach Saffle to approve the minutes as prepared. Pike Burkhart seconded and minutes were unanimously approved. Discussion/recommendations for advisory board members Several board members terms expired March 31st, 2007 and there was not a board meeting the following month in April, therefore explaining the delay in appointing & re-appointing new board members. In the past, community members interested in serving on the advisory board have either contacted a council member, Main Street advisory board member or the Main Street manager to express their desire to serve on the board. The following information was discussed at the board meeting. Cindy Allcorn submitted a nomination form for Larry Womack, owner of Rosie's Antiques located on the square. Cindy shared that Larry has approached her on several occasions to express an interest in serving on the board. Cindy also stated that Mr. Womack has a vested interest in downtown and that he has the time to dedicate to board meetings as well as events. He was a merchant marine and employee of Kimberly Clark for 23 years prior to his retirement. Beth Golden, main street manager, brought two names to the board for consideration. Marvin Gorley who is a professional photographer and one of Paris' most noted historians. Mr. Gorley supports downtown projects and can bring his art expertise to the board. He has supported our fundraising efforts by providing most of the artwork for our Sayonara Summer auction held last fall, we raised $6,500, much of that amount coming from high bids for his one of kind photographs of Paris. Kari Daniel was the other name presented by Beth Golden for consideration. Ms. Daniel is a web designer and graphics artist, as well as downtown merchant and resident. She has expressed an interest in serving on the board and has offered her skills and expertise in our marketing and promotions plans. Matthew Page 1 of2 r - 'T
