<br />to put a private club in the bUilding. <br /> <br />Clarene Montgomery, Seattle Washington, stated she Owns the property <br />at 1500 Fitzhugh. She stated that she is in favor of the zoning change, <br />and so is her sister, who owns property in the area, and her mother, <br />who also owns property in the area. <br /> <br />Barbara Forrest asked Ms. Montgomery if she was Mr. Green's sister. <br />She stated she was. She asked her if the family owned several pieces <br />of property in the area, and she stated they did. <br /> <br />B. There was no OPposition present. <br /> <br />C. The public hearing was declared closed. <br /> <br />8. Consideration of and action on the petition of AI Green for a change in zoning <br />from a Neighborhood Service District (NS) to a General Retail District (GR) on <br />Lot 12, Block C, East Park Addition, being number 951 E. Hickory Street. Lisa <br />Wright advised the Commission that the Comprehensive Plan recommends <br />that the zoning be residential in this area; therefore, the Comprehensive Plan <br />would need to be amended ifthe Commission wished to approve this request. <br /> <br />Benny Plata stated that he has a problem with putting a club in a residential <br />area because clubs bring trouble and police. Fran Neeley asked how close <br />this was to T.G. Givens, and Richard Hunt stated it is two to three blocks. <br />Fran Neeley stated that the Commission has been hesitant to allow mobile <br />homes in the city, and this is a bigger step than that. She said we have been <br />trying to stick to the Comprehensive Plan. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Barbara Forrest, seconded by Benny Plata, to deny the <br />petition. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br />9. Consideration of and action on the Preliminary Plat of Lot 1, Block A, Peoples <br />Bank 286 Addition, being number 2805 Lamar A venue. Motion was made by <br />Fran Neeley, seconded by Bobby Myers, to approve the plat subject to the <br />City Engineer's recommendation. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br />10. Consideration of and action on the Final Plat of Lot 1, Block A, Peoples Bank <br />286 Addition, being number 2805 Lamar A venue. Motion was made by <br />Richard Hunt, seconded by Benny Plata, to approve the plat subject to the City <br />Engineer's recommendation. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br />11. Consideration of and action on the Preliminary Plat of Lot 1, Block A, Omega <br />306 Addition, being number 2885 Stillhouse Road. Motion was made by <br />Barbara Forrest, seconded by Bobby Myers, to approve the plat subject to the <br />
