n~FT <br />f:attorney\ordwork\current\Traffic-Stop Sign-14th NE & VanZandt - 2008 <br />March 11, 2008 <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS TEXAS, <br />AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PARIS BY <br />REVISING THE TRAFFIC CONTROL MAP ADOPTED IN PARAGRAPH (b) OF <br />SECTION 31-65, CHAPTER 31 OF SAID CODE; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS <br />AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; PROVIDING A REPEALER <br />CLAUSE, A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, A SAVINGS CLAUSE, A PENALTY CLAUSE; <br />AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris Traffic Commission is charged reviewing and evaluating <br />proposals to add or remove traffic control devices on City streets and roadways throughout <br />the City of Paris; and, <br />WHEREAS, among those traffic control devices evaluated by the Traffic Commission <br />is the placement of stop signs at various intersections throughout the City; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Traffic Commission, at its regular meeting of March 4, 2008, considered <br />and evaluated a request for the placement of a stop sign at the intersection of 14th NE Street <br />and Van Zandt Street, and, having done so, found and determined that the placement of a stop <br />sign at this location in the City of Paris is necessary to protect the health and safety and is in <br />the best interests of the citizens of the City of Paris, and have so recommended such signs to <br />the City Council of the City of Paris; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, TEXAS: <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this ordinance are hereby in all <br />things approved. <br />Section 2. That the Traffic Control Map of the City of Paris, Texas, as amended, and as <br />adopted in Paragraph (b) of Section 31-65, Chapter 31, of the Code of Ordinances of the City <br />of Paris, Paris, Texas, be, and the same is hereby, further amended to include the following <br />stop sign: <br />"Stop Sign - on Van Zandt Street at 14th NE stopping east and west-bound <br />traffic." <br />Section 3. That all provisions of the ordinances of the City of Paris, Texas in conflict <br />with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed, and all other provisions of the <br />ordinances of the City of Paris not in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance shall remain <br />in full force and effect. <br />134 <br />
