Minutes <br />Traffic Commission <br />City of Paris <br />The Traffic Commission met on Tuesday, March 4th, 2008, at 5:15 P.M. in the <br />Municipal Courtroom with the following members present: <br />1. Bee Garmon <br />2. George Kimbrough <br />3. Jon McFadden <br />4. Tom Calabria <br />5. Ray Banks <br />6. Matt Frierson <br />The city staff was represented by Assistant Chief of Police Bob Hundley. <br />The meeting was called to order at 5:18 by Acting Chairman George Kimbrough <br />Mr. Kimbrough asked the commission members to review the submitted minutes <br />of the November 6th, 2008 meeting. Mr. Banks made a motion to approve the <br />minutes with a correction on page 2 where Jordon Harper was referred to as Mr. <br />Jordon instead of Mr. Harper. Mr. Banks then made the motion to accept the <br />minutes with the correction, seconded by Ms. Garmon and passed 6-0. <br />Mr. Kimbrough moved to item #3 regarding the nomination and vote regarding <br />the Chair of the commission. Mr. Kimbrough opened the floor for nominations. <br />Mr. Banks nominated Mr. Kimbrough, Ms. Garmon seconded the nomination and <br />moved that the nominations cease and Mr. Kimbrough be elected by <br />acclamation. Mr. Banks seconded the motion and the motion passed 5-0. <br />Mr. Kimbrough moved to item #4, which had been tabled at the last meeting, <br />regarding the intersection of Lewis Lane and Stone Ave. Mr. Banks made a <br />motion to remove the item from the table, seconded by Mr. McFadden and <br />passed 6-0. A discussion was had as to a stop sign placement at this <br />intersection. After discussion, Mr. Banks made the motion of establishing at stop <br />sign for southbound traffic on Lewis Lane at the intersection of Stone Avenue <br />and establishing a right turn only lane at the intersection. Second by Mr. <br />McFadden and the motion passed 6-0. <br />Item number 5 had to do with the establishment of a stop sign at the intersection <br />of Van Zandt and NE 14th Street for east /west bound traffic on Van Zandt. AC <br />Hundley advised the commission that a local resident had complained of traffic <br />moving through the intersection which also has a drainage `dip' making noise <br />constantly when striking the undercarriage of vehicles.
