I believe this project, which has wide community support, will greatly
benefit the City of Paris, its residents and neighboring communities.
The extension will provide pedestrians, bicyclists, and wheelchair users safe and
environmentally friendly travel alternatives to the cities Sports Complex and Park, Civic Center,
Paris Junior College, Paris High School, Crockett Middle School, Paris Historical District which
includes: the Sam Bell Maxey House, Bywaters Park, the Wise House, the Lamar County
Historical Museum, and the Chisum Burial Site, churches, health and commercial employment
centers and residential sub-divisions.
The citizens of Paris support the trail system wholeheartedly and I urge Texas Parks and
Wildlife Department to give this project every consideration. I look forward to hearing it has
been approved for funding.
Sincerely,
4
Mark Homer
Member, Texas House of Representatives
MH/gh
