MINUTES <br />WORK SESSION <br />LAKE PAT MAYSE STUDY COMMITTEE <br />107 E. KAUFMAN STREET <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />THURSDAY. APRIL 17 2048 <br />1. Election of Chairman and Vice-Chairman. <br />City Manager Kevin Carruth called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. <br />Members present were Herb Campbell, Dennis Chalaire, Reeves Hayter, John R. Kruntorad, <br />Gene McWaters, Michael Moffitt, Sharron Nabors, Jim Noble, and Dan Smith. Members absent <br />were Rick McDougall and Richard Quarles. Ex-Officio Members present were Bryon Billman, <br />Renee Harvey, Jim Kays and Frank Wright. Alternate Member Joan Mathis was absent. <br />Also, present were City staff Kevin Carruth, City Manager; Shawn Napiex, City Engineer; <br />Kent McIlyar, City Attorney, Doug Harris, Interim Public Utilities Director; and Janice Ellis, City <br />Clerk. <br />Kevin Carruth opened the floor for nominations to elect a chairman. A Motion to nominate <br />Reeves Hayter was made by Herb Campbell and seconded by Dan Smith. A Motion to cease <br />nominations was made by Sharron Nabors and seconded by Jim Kays. Reeves Hayter was elected <br />chairman by a unanimous vote. <br />Kevin Carruth opened the floor for nominations to elect a vice-chairman. A Motion to <br />nominate Dennis Chalaire was made by Reeves Hayter and seconded by Herb Campbell. A Motion <br />to cease nominations was made by Sharron Nabors and seconded by John Kruntorad. Dennis <br />Chalaire was elected vice-chairman by a unanimous vote. <br />2. Answer and discuss any questions related to the briefing books or information to be added <br />to the briefing book. <br />Chairman Hayter inquired if there were any questions about the agenda or the briefing books. <br />Dan Smith recommended in their discussions they talk in terms of gallons of water instead of cubic <br />feet. <br />3. Discuss the committee's goals and objectives. <br />Chairman Hayter stated the overall goals of the committee was to determine the amount of <br />water in Lake Pat Mayse, the needs of the community and whether or not there was excess water to <br />sell to the City of Irving. Bryon Billman inquired about the studies. Chairman Hayter responded <br />the volumetric study of Lake Pat Mayse was suppose to be completed by September 1 St. Dan Smith <br />recommended they have several meetings prior to establishing the goals and objectives in order to <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />. <br />~rIG~ <br />
