MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />BUILDING AND STANDARDS COMMISSION <br />MONDAY, FEBRUARY 18, 2008 <br />4:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. Mary Crumpler, Acting Chairman, called the Building and Standards Commission <br />meeting to order at 4:00 P.M. <br />Roll was called. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />David Nabors <br />Harrell Tippitt <br />Lucius Joe, Jr. <br />Mary Crumpler <br />Bill Harris, Alternate <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Zachary Saffle, Alternate <br />Scott Scholz, Alternate <br />Chris Brown <br />Ryan Lassiter <br />Vicki Ballard <br />2. Election of officers for the remainder of the appointment year (ending June 2008): <br />A. Chairman, Motion was made and seconded, to elect Mary Crumpler as Chairman. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />B. Vice-Chairman, Motion was made and seconded, to elect Lucius Joe, Jr. as Vice <br />Chairman. Motion carried unanimously. <br />C. Secretary, Motion was made and seconded, to elect Vicki Ballard as Secretary. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />3. Approval of Minutes of previous meeting: <br />Motion was made and seconded, to approve the meeting minutes for October 15, 2007. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />4. Public Hearing to consider presentations by City of Paris Code Inspectors and owner(s) <br />and/or lien holder(s) of the below properties who have been given notice of a violation <br />of Article III of Chapter 7 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, <br />entitled "Substandard and Dangerous Buildings and Structures": <br />A. 503 and 513 13`h Street N.E.; Lot 12, City Block 70-A - Motion was made by <br />David Nabors, seconded by Lucius Joe, Jr., to allow 60 days to demolish. If the <br />property is not demolished within 60 days, the City may demolish, with a$1,000 per <br />day civil penalty. Motion carried unanimously. <br />B. 519, 529, 539 and 621 13`h Street N.E.; I.ot 13, City Block - Motion was made by <br />Harrell Tippitt, seconded by David Nabors, to allow 60 days to demolish.
