Consideration ofand action on the petition ofParis Big SandyApartments, LP <br />for a change in zoning from an Agricultural District (A) to a Mulfiple Family <br />Dwelling District (MF-2) on a 6.5 acre tract being a part of the Enoch Crow <br />Survey Abstract No. 208, located in the 4000 b/ock of Lamar Avenue. <br />Lisa Wright entered a petition in opposition of the request into the record. <br />Brad Archer stated that we have problem - anytime someone wants to do a <br />development we continue to turn them away and we can't keep doing that. <br />Curtis Fendley stated if the complex was right next to street he would have no <br />problem because the bufFer should be at the back, not the front. Richard Hunt <br />stated this property is going to develop and he doubts that it will develop as <br />single family residential. Brad Archer said he applauds the company for <br />trying to add buffers, because that is valuable property and it may not be the <br />case second time around that a developer provides a buffer like that. <br />Motion was made by Curtis Fendley, seconded by Benny Plata, to deny the <br />request. Public hearing to consider the petition of Paris Economic Development <br />Corporafion for a change in zoning from a One Family Dwelling District No. 2 <br />(SF-2) to a Light Industria/ District (LI) on Lot 3, City B/ock 305, being /ocated <br />in the 2000 block of Campbell Street. <br />The public hearing was declared open. <br />A. The following individuals spoke in favor of the petition. <br />Pete Kampfer, Paris Economic Development Corporation, 1125 <br />Bonham, spoke in favor of the petition. Mr. Kampfer stated they <br />purchased two pieces of property that are contiguous to the industrial <br />park to the south. PEDC needs a lot of acreage for recruitment and it <br />all needs to be zoned the same. This will also give them an entry and <br />exit to Campbell Street. They are not currently planning to build <br />anything, just access roads. The plan is about five years out, and <br />improving the property will be several years old.
