RECOMMENDED MOTI01\1: Not an action itea., POLICY ISSUE(S): Council objective; Nuisance abatement BACBGROUND: At its meeting on Monday, February 11, 2008, the City Council requested that staff prepare requests for proposals for the demolition of a building at Casa Bonita. On March 311 2008, specific requirements for inclusion in the bid documents were provided to the City by Brady Environmental to ensure that all Federal and State environmental laws were followed during the demolition of any buildings. The Director of Community Development has modified the demolition packet to include those requirements and has selected four (4) structures at the Casa Bonita complex which may be considered by the City Council for demolition after bids have been received. Advertisements for bids were placed in The Paris News on June 1 and 8, and bids will opened on July 8 and presented to the City Council on July 14. Attached hereto are prior reports provided to the City Council on the background of the Casa Bonita Apartments along with a copy of the specifications that are being provided to bidders.
