Wright Council Date: Development 02/25/OS RECOMMENDED MOTION: Receive report on status of requests for proposals for the demolition of a building at Casa Bonita. POLICY ISSUE(S): BACKGROUND: At its meeting on Monday, February 11, 2008, the City Council requested that staff have requests for proposals prepared for the demolition of a building at Casa Bonita. In order to ensure the City's liability is kept to a minimum, I have contacted Brady Environmental Services, Inc. and requested a quote for the preparation of requests for proposals that will ensure any bidders provide appropriate evidence of compliance with State and Federal la.ws regarding the demolition of buildings containing environmental hazards. Upon completion of specifications, staff will select three buildings near homes or along the street which are the most deteriorated and will request that bidders price each building separately so the Council can deterinuie which building it would like to have demolished first. The requests for proposals provided by Brady will be in such a form that it can be used from this point forward if and when the City Council decides that it will order more structures in the complex demolished.
