POLICY ISSUE(S): Council objective; Nuisance abatement BACKGROUND: At its meeting on Monday, February 11, 2008, the City Council requested that staff prepare requests for proposals for the demolition of a building at Casa Bonita. Advertisements for bids were placed in The Paris News on June 1 and 8, and bids were opened on July 8. Thirteen packets were picked up by potential bidders, and three bids were submitted. Based on review of the bids, it is recommended that Cherry Demolition be awarded the bid for this project in the amount of $70,275.00 for demolition of all four buildings, with wetting of debris being performed by the bidder, and authorizing the City Manager to negotiate and execute all necessary documents.
