SPECIAL MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF PARIS <br />July 10, 2008 <br />The City Council of the City of Paris met for a special session at 8:00 A. M. Thursday, July <br />10, 2008, at the City Council Chamber, 107 E. Kaufman Street, Paris, Texas. <br />Present: Mayor : Jesse James Freelen <br />Council Members: Joe McCarthy; Kevin Kear; Will Biard; Edwin <br />Pickle; and Bill Strathern <br />City Staff: Kevin Carruth, City Manager; Kent McIlyar, <br />City Attorney; Janice Ellis, City Clerk; Gene <br />Anderson, Finance Director; Priscilla <br />McAnally; Ronnie Grooms, Fire Chief; Karl <br />Louis, Chief of Police; and Doug Harris, <br />Interim Director of Utilities <br />Absent: Council Members: Stephen Brown <br />1. Call meeting to order. <br />Mayor Freelen called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m. <br />2. Development Training for City Council and City Staff. <br />Training was conducted by Mike Conduff for City Council and City Staff. <br />3. Lunch Break. <br />Mayor Freelen recessed the Council at 11:45 a.m. <br />4. Tour of the following City Facilities: <br />Mayor Freelen reconvened the Council at 12:45 p.m. and they toured the following City <br />facilities: <br />Paris Public Library - 326 S. Main Street <br />Paris/Lamar County Health Department - 740 6`h Street SW <br />Fire Station No. 3- 2009 Bonham Street <br />Ground Water Storage Facility - 1805 7th Street NW <br />Public Works - 50 W. Hickory <br />Fire Station No. 1- 1444 N. Main Street <br />Animal Shelter - 310 Clement Road <br />000002 <br />
