The goal is for the Councilmember to be able to contribute first hand information to council deliberations when an issue from the committee comes to council and vice versa. Council made committee appointments at the July 14 meeting. The Civil Service Commission, PEDC, Northeast Texas Library System, and Ark-Tex COG are not included because the Mayor is an ex-officio, the COG positions were decided at the July 14 meeting, or the law/bylaws do not call for Council representation, e.g. Civil Service, NeTLS.
