<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2002-064 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING A PROCLAMATION DECLARING THE <br />MONTH OF APRIL AS FAIR HOUSING MONTH; MAKING OTHER <br />FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is supportive of Title VIII of the Civil <br />Rights Act of 1968, as amended, which prohibits discrimination in housing; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor ofthe City of Paris has executed a Proclamation in the form shown <br />in Exhibit A, attached hereto, proclaiming the month of April as "Fair Housing Month" in the city <br />of Paris; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interests ofthe City of Paris that the City Council <br />ofthe City of Paris show support of the Fair Housing law by approving said proclamation; NOW, <br />THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things <br />approved. <br /> <br />Section 2. That the Proclamation proclaiming April as "Fair Housing Month" in the city of <br />Paris, in the form shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto, be, and the same is hereby, approved. <br /> <br />Section 3.
