<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2002-029 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS, ORDERING THE REGULAR MUNICIPAL ELECTION <br />FOR THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, TO BEHELD ON THE FIRST <br />SA TURDA Y IN MAY, 2002, SAME BEING THE 4TH DAY OF MAY, 2002, <br />BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 7:00 O'CLOCK A.M. AND 7:00 O'CWCK <br />P.M., BY THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF DISTRICTS 1,2, 3, AND 6 OF <br />THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, WITH EARLY VOTING FOR THE <br />SAME BEING CONDUCTED IN THE CITY HALL ANNEX WEST, FROM <br />THE 17TH DAY OF APRIL, 2002, THROUGH THE 30TH DAY OF APRIL, <br />2002, MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY, BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 8:00 <br />O'CLOCK A.M. AND 5:00 O'CWCK P.M., FOR THE PURPOSE OF <br />ELECTING THE COUNCIL MEMBERS FROM EACH OF SAID <br />DISTRICTS TO SERVE AS MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL FOR <br />THE ENSUING TWO YEARS; PROVIDING FOR ELECTION OFFICIALS; <br />PROVIDING FOR NOTICE; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND <br />PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />Section 1. That a regular municipal election for the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be held <br />by the qualified voters of Districts 1, 2, 3, and 6 of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, on the first <br />Saturday in May, 2002, same being the 4th day of May, 2002, between the hours of 7:00 o'clock <br />a.m. and 7:00 o'clock p.m., for the purpose of electing four (4) members of the City Council of <br />the City of Paris for two year terms, as follows: <br /> <br />One Council Member from District One (1) <br />One Council Member from District Two (2) <br />One Council Member from District Three (3) <br />One Council Member from District Six (6) <br /> <br />as provided in Paragraphs 2,3,5,6, and 7 of Order entered March 15, 1976, in Civil Action No. <br />P-75-3-CA, in the District Court of the United States for the Eastern District of Texas, Paris <br />Division, and as provided in the Charter of the City of Paris and the laws of the State of Texas <br />wherein they do not conflict with said Order. <br /> <br />Section 2.
