Wright, Director of <br />13. <br />Council Date: <br />Community Development <br />08/11/08 <br />RECOMMENDED MOTION: <br />Conduct a public hearing to provide an opportunity to present comments and written <br />evidence and approve an ordinance amending the Future Land Use Plan Map. <br />POLICY ISSUE(S): <br />Planning & Zoning <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The current Comprehensive Plan and accompanying Future Land Use Map was adopted <br />on September 6, 2001. A revised Map and Legend Explanations were adopted on May <br />12, 2008. Any zoning changes which do not comply with the recommended uses shown <br />on the Future Land Use Plan Map require a formal amendment to such Map. <br />A. Lot 5, City Block 305, being number 2110 W. Campbell Street <br />B. Lot 3, City Block 305, being located in the 2000 block of W. Campbell Street <br />- The Future Land Use Plan Map recommends that these areas be zoned for Low <br />Density Residential use. On June 2, 2008, the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission recommended approval of a zoning change to Light Industrial, <br />save and except a 150 foot buffer zone along Campbell Street. <br />C. Lot 18, Block 203, Scott & Braden Addition, being number 2306 W. Kaufman <br />- The Future Land Use Plan Map recommends that this area be zoned for Low <br />Density Residential use. On June 9, 2008, the City Council approved a zoning <br />change to Commercial. <br />Accompanying this briefing sheet is a letter from Ms. Inez Barnett opposing the change <br />for 2306 W. Kaufman (she uses the term rezone but means changes to the land use plan). <br />BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: <br />The Commission recommended approval of the changes by a vote of 6-0. <br />EXHIBITS: <br />Ordinance; aerials of proposed changes, photographs, Barnett 2306 W.
