The
goal is for the Councilmember to be able to contribute first hand information to council
deliberations when an issue from the committee comes to council and vice versa.
Council made committee appointments at the July 14 meeting. The Civil Service
Commission, PEDC, Northeast Texas Library System, and Ark-Tex COG are not
included because the Mayor is an ex-officio, the COG positions were decided at the July
14 meeting, or the law/bylaws do not call for Council representation, e.g. Civil Service,
NeTLS.
At the July 28 meeting Council Member Strathern was absent so the Council did not
make appointments to the Library Advisory Board, Paris/Lamar County Advisory Board
of Health, Planning and Zoning Commission, and Traffic Commission in order to allow
him the opportunity to pick from several committees.
BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
EXHIBITS:
List of available boards, commissions, and committees and their membership
ACTION:
BUDGET INFO:
❑ Financial Report ~ Minute Order
Expense
$
❑ Department Report ❑ Resolution
Budgeted Amt.
$
❑ Presentation ❑ Ordinance
y'I'D Actual
$
❑ Public Hearing ❑ Other
Acct.
