MINUTES <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRE5ERVATION COMMISSION <br />MONDAY. JUNE 30, 2008 <br />12:00 0'CLOCK P.M. <br />The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to arder by Arvin Starrett, Chairman. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Arvin Starrett, Chairman <br />Paul Denney <br />Sharron Nabors <br />Susan Scholz <br />Ben Vaughan, Alternate <br />Jerry Raper, Alternate <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Nancy Partridge <br />Ann Rogers <br />Pike Burkhart, Vice Chairman <br />C. Also present was Bethany Golden, Main Street Manager. <br />2. Consideration ofand action on the,following Certificates ofAppropriateness: <br />Motion was made by Susan Scholz, seconded by Paul Denney, to recuse Ben <br />Vaughan. Motion carried 5-0. <br />a. 913 Church Street - Ben M. Vaughan - Mr. Vaughan stated they had future <br />plans to also paint the structure and fill in the basement, and they might <br />consider redoing the brick underpinning. Paul Denney stated the brick <br />underpinning could be good to use on in-fill projects to mask a concrete <br />foundation. Motion was made by Paul Denney, seconded by Susan Scholz, to <br />approve the COA. Motion carried 5-0. <br />b. 1110 Church Street - Ben M. Vaughan - Mr. Vaughan presented the petition. <br />Arvin Starrett asked if there was a turret? Mr. Vaughan stated he didn't think <br />so. Motion was made by Susan Scholz, seconded by Jerry Raper, to approve <br />the COA. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Motion was made by Paul Denney, seconded by Susan Scholz, to return Ben <br />Vaughan to the meeting. Motion carried 5-0. <br />4. Request items for future agendas. There were none. <br />5. Meeting adjourned at 12:20 p.m. <br />-OQ0025 <br />
