MINiTTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />BUILDING AND STANDARDS COMMISSION <br />MONDAY, APRIL 21, 2008 <br />4:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. Mary Crumpler, Acting Chairman, called the Building and Standards Commission <br />meeting to order at 4:00 P.M. <br />Roll was called. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Mary Crumpler <br />Chris Brown <br />Vicki Ballard <br />Scott Scholz, Alternate <br />Bill Harris, Alternate <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Zachary Saffle, Alternate <br />Ryan Lassiter <br />David Nabors <br />Harrell Tippitt <br />Lucius Joe Jr. <br />2. Approval of Minutes of previous meeting: <br />Motion was made and seconded to approve the meeting minutes for February 18, 2008. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />4. Public Hearing to consider presentations by City of Paris Code Inspectors and owner(s) <br />and/or lien holder(s) of the below properties who have been given notice of a violation <br />of Article III of Chapter 7 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Tex$s, <br />entitled "Substandard and Dangerous Buildings and Structures": <br />J. 426 E. Grove Street; Lot 3, City Block 75-A - Motion was made and seconded to <br />allow 30 days to demolish. If the property is not demolished in 30 days, the City may <br />demolish, with a$ 1,000 per day civil penalty. Nlotion carried unanimously. <br />B. 1437 8t' Street S.E.; Lot 7, City Block 188-A - Tabled. <br />A. 1427 8th Street S.E.; Lot 6, City Block 188-A - Motion was made and seconded to <br />allow 90 days to repair or demolish. If the property is not repaired or demolished in <br />90 days, the City may demolish, with a$1,000 per day civil penalty. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />C. 743 E. Polk; Lot 22 and 24 feet of Lot 23, Block 2, Gibbons Park Addition - <br />Motion was made and seconded to allow 30 days to demolish. If the property is not <br />demolished in 30 days, the City may demolish, with a$1,Q00 per day civil penalty. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />D. 429 E. Washington; Lot 11, City Block 146 - Motion was made and seconded to <br />allow 90 days to demolish. If the property is not demolished in 90 days, the City may <br />demolish, with a$1,000 per day civil penalty. Motion carried unanimously. <br />- 00001.6 <br />
