Rates for these industries are determined by the study and go into effect automatically per the contracts. Residential and commercial rates are also examined in the study and are given to the City Council for approval. The study also points out that the City needs to continue to replenish its Water & Sewer Fund operating 000 below the minimum needed amount at this time, the reserves which are about $600 , sewer portion of the fund is not currently self-sufficient, additional funds are needed for capital improvements, and implement a tampering fee as one means of addressing the problem of water theft and other unauthorized use of water. A copy of the study is enclosed in the packet and Darrell Cline with R.W. Beck, Inc. will be at the meeting to review the study and answer questions.
