RESOLUTION NO. 2008-062 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, APPOINTING DOUG HARRIS AS DIRECTOR OF UTILITIES FOR THE CITY OF PARIS; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Doug Harris has been serving as Interim Director of Utilities since the resignation of Jon Clack on November 21, 2007; and, WHEREAS, during Mr. Harris' tenure as Interim Director of Utilities he handled several difficult issues with dedicated professionalism and competence; and, WHEREAS, Mr. Harris has class A wastewater treatment operator, class A water treatment operator and level C laboratory analyst licenses; and, WHEREAS, Mr. Harris has been employed by the City as a supervisor for over 18 years; and, WHEREAS, the City manager has reviewed Mr. Harris' skills and qualifications for the position and recommends that Mr. Harris serve as Director of Utilities for the City; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, Texas, finds and determines that the appointment of Doug Harris as Director of Utilities of the City of Paris, effective August 11, 2008, is in the best interests of the City and its citizens; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the appointment of Doug Harris to the position of Director of Utilities of the City of Paris is hereby approved and effective as of August 11, 2008. Section 3.
