Draft <br />F.attorney\reswork\current\Tax Rate Vote Res 2008 <br />RESOLUTION N0. <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, TO CALL <br />FOR A VOTE ON THE TAX RATE FOR TAX YEAR 2008; MAKING OTHER <br />FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 26.05(d) of the Property Tax Code of the <br />State of Texas, the City will hold two public hearings on the proposed tax rate, the first <br />public hearing to be held September 15, 2008 and the second on September 19, 2008; and, <br />WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 26.06(d) of the Tax Code, the governing body <br />of the taxing unit shall announce at the public hearings the date, time, and place for the <br />meeting at which they will vote on the tax rate for 2008. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, TEXAS: <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in <br />all things approved. <br />Section 2. Public hearings on the proposed tax rate are hereby called for <br />September 15 and September 19, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. at City Council Chamber, 107 E. <br />Kaufman Street, Paris, Texas. <br />Section 3. That a proposal to adopt a tax rate for 2008 shall be placed as an action <br />item on a future City Council agenda prior to September 30, 2008. <br />Section 4.
