2008-066-RES accepting the proposal of Hayter Engineering, Inc. for engineering services to prepare plans and specifications for water, sewer and roadway replacement projects in the City of Paris

RESOLUTIOIV 1110. 2008-066 A RESOLUTI011I OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, ACCEPTING THE PROPOSAL OF HAYTER ENGINEERING, INC. FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES TO PREPARE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR WATER, SEWER AND ROADWAY REPLACEMENT PROJECTS IN THE CITY OF PARIS AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN ENGINEERING SERVICES AGREEMENT; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, on September 17, 2008, the City Council of the City of Paris, Texas, did in Budget Ordinance No. 2008-029 authorize certain water, sewer and roadway replacement projects; and, WHEREAS, the City has received a proposal from Hayter Engineering, Inc. to provide engineering services for plans and specifications for said water, sewer and roadway replacement projects, for an amount not to exceed $140,133, as follows: 1. Replace portions of 15-inch sewer line south of the 700 block of W. Washington Street. 2. Dickson St. between 9th NW and 11th NW to replace the water and sewer lines and to rebuild the roadway. 3. Culbertson and Cleveland Streets between 19th SE and 24th SE to replace the water line and portions of the sewer lines. The roadway will be reworked. 4. W. Sherman St. from 19th SW to 25th SW to replace water lines and from 19th SW to the 22nd SW replace the sewer line. The roadway will be reworked. 5. 14th NE and 16th NE between Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive and Van Zandt to replace the sewer lines in the area and some water lines. Portions of the roadway will be reworked; and, WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate that the proposal of Hayter Engineering, Inc. to provide engineering services for plans and specifications for these projects be approved and the City Manager be authorized and directed to negotiate and execute on behalf of the City of Paris a professional services agreement with Hayter Engineering, Inc. in a form approved by the City Attorney. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved.
