POLICY ISSUE(S): Public hearing BACRGROUND: This is the first step in applying for the 2009-2010 Texas Community Development Block Grant Program. This program will possibly fund the replacement of sewer infrastructure in the central portion of town (see attached map). A resolution will be presented at the October 13 council meeting for authorization of the submittal of a grant application. We will be applying for a$250,000 grant. The grant application deadline is October 17t" and the awards will be made in May or June of 2009. The City will be committing $50,000 as a contribution toward the construction of the sewer infrastructure. If we are awarded the grant the project, we would most likely begin in the 2010-2011 budget year.
