ORDINANCE NO. <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, <br />AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR THE ENSUING FISCAL PERIOD BEGINNING <br />OCTOBER 1, 2008, AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2009, AS AMENDED, IN <br />ACCORDANCE WITH THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF PARIS; <br />APPROPRIATING THE VARIOUS AMOUNTS THEREOF; MAKING OTHER <br />FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; REPEALING ALL <br />ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager of the City of Paris has submitted to the City Council <br />amendments adding and/or increasing certain items and decreasing or deleting other items in <br />the 2008-2009 Budget for the City of Paris, Texas for the proposed 2008-2009 Budget, <br />beginning October 1, 2008, and ending September 30, 2009; and, <br />WHEREAS, on October 13, 2008, a public hearing was held before the City Council on <br />the proposed amendments to the 2008-2009 Budget to allow proponents and opponents of the <br />Budget Amendments an opportunity to be heard as required by Article V, Section 51, of the <br />City Charter of the City of Paris, and the City Council is of the opinion that the proposed <br />amendments to the 2008-2009 Budget, should be approved and adopted as set out herein; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, TEXAS: <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this ordinance are hereby in all <br />things approved. <br />Section 2. That the proposed amendments to the budget of the City of Paris for the <br />period beginning October 1, 2008, and ending September 30, 2009, as submitted to the City <br />Council by the City Manager, be, and the same are in all things, approved, adopted, and <br />incorporated herein by reference for all purposes, as the budget of all of the current expenses <br />as well as the fixed charges against the City for the fiscal period beginning October 1, 2008, and <br />ending September 30, 2009. <br />Section 3. That the sum of $79,460 is hereby appropriated out of the General Fund for <br />the payment of operating expenses of the City Government as follows: <br />Proj2osed Increases: <br />01-0101-14-00 Salaries & Wages $51,500.00 <br />01-0102-14-00 Social Security $ 3,940.00 <br />01-0103-14-00 TMRS Pension $ 6,303.00 <br />01-0104-14-00 Life & Disability Insurance $ 78.00 <br />Q000cJ / <br />
