<br /> <br /> <br />85 <br /> <br />the proceeds of such sale shall first s~tisfy the expense of keeping <br />. such animals and advertising, and making sale of the same, anB the <br />balance of the proceeds of such sale shall be paid into the city <br />treasury of the city of Paris to the credit of the current expense <br />fund. ' <br />SEC. 6. The policeman mentioned in this ordinance shall . <br />keep a book, in which he shall record' the description of all ani- <br />mals by him sold under this ordinance, the time of such sale, the <br />, name of the purchaser thereof, anä the price at w.hich the same <br />was sold¡ Which book shall be open to the inspection of the public. <br />SEC. 7. The owner of any animal sold under and by virtue <br />of the provisions of this ordinance, m,ay at any time within three <br />months from the date of such sale, appear before the mayor of the <br />city of Paris. and upon his making satisfactory proof before him <br />that he was the owner of such property at the time of such sale, <br />the said mayor shall, and it is made his duty to draw a warrant <br />upon the city treasurer in fa;or of such owner, for the amount for <br />which such animal sold, less the cost of impounding and keeping, <br />advertising, and m:¡.king sale of such animals. <br />SEC. 8. The policeman shall collect from the own~r of any <br />horse, mare, jack, mule, or jennett, or cattle 'before delivering the <br />same, the sum of one dollar each per head for such animals im- <br />pounded under the provisions of this ordinance, and the sum of fifty <br />cents per head for each ø.og, goat, or sheep so ilupounded, ,together <br />with 30 cents per head per day for feeding any of such animals, <br />and ten cents per head for each animal advertised and sold, which' <br />amounts, when collected from the owner of such stock, or when <br />collected by the sale of such stock, as hereinafter provided, shall <br />be paid into the city treasury by the said policeman and a receipt <br />taken therefor. <br />SEC. 9, The city council shall elect a policeman, whose duty <br />will be to execute the provisions of this ordinance. He shall give <br />a bond, payable to the mayor of the city of Paris and his successor <br />in office, in the sum of five hundred dollars, conditioned for the <br />faithful discharge of his duties as such policeman, and he shall <br />make a complete report of all his acts as such policeman to the <br /> <br />1, j, <br /> <br />
