<br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />2001-076 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING A LETTER OF <br />AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF PARIS AND THE TEXAS <br />HISTORICAL COMMISSION TO QUALIFY THE CITY FOR ELIGIBILITY <br />TO P ARTlCIP ATE IN THE MAIN STREET GRADUATE CITY PROGRAM; <br />MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE <br />SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris has been extended the opportunity to participate as a graduate <br />city in the Texas Main Street Program; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in order to participate in said program, the City is required to enter into a Letter <br />of Agreement with the Texas Historical Commission which represents a commitment on the part of <br />the City to continue as an "Official Graduate Main Street City"; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the aforesaid commitment contains mutual obligations on the part of the City <br />and the Texas Historical Commission incident to said designation; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires to accept said offer of official designation and to <br />participate in the aforesaid program; NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things <br />approved. <br /> <br />Section 2. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, <br />on behalf of the City of Paris, and the City Clerk to attest to a Letter of Agreement, a copy of which <br />is attached hereto as Exhibit A and for all purposes incorporated herein, by and between the City of <br />Paris and the Texas Historical Commission to authorize the Cityto continue as an "Official Graduate <br />Main Street City" and to participate as a graduate city in the Texas Main Street Program. <br /> <br />Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage. <br /> <br />PASSED AND APPROVED this 11th day of June, 2001. <br /> <br />
