<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2001-006 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS, ACCEPTING A DEED OF DONATION OF PROPERTY <br />FROM HASKELL BRATCHER AND ELAINE BRATCHER; MAKING <br />OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Code Enforcement office of the City of Paris has initiated the City's <br />demolition process against a substandard house located at 603 3rd Street N.W. in the city of Paris; <br />and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the aforesaid substandard house is owned by Haskell and Elaine Bratcher; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the aforesaid owners have attempted through their own resources to tear down <br />and remove the substandard structure located at 603 3rd Street N.W. but are unable to complete the <br />process due to personal reasons; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Code Enforcement office has received an estimate of $3,800 as the cost <br />necessary to demolish the aforesaid substandard structure; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in lieu of the City tearing down the aforesaid structure and placing a lien on <br />the property, thereafter to initiate collection proceedings on the property for the lien cost, the <br />property owners have offered to convey the aforesaid substandard property to the City tax free, under <br />a general warranty deed, with the City to thereafter demolish the substandard structure located <br />thereon and utilize the property thereafter as the City would deem appropriate; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is in receipt of a deed of donation from <br />Haskell Bratcher and Elaine Bratcher as owners conveying Lot 7, City Block 90-A, located at 603 <br />3rd Street N.W., Paris, Texas; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council finds and determines that it would be in the best interest of <br />the City of Paris to accept the offer of donation of the aforesaid property, to complete the demolition <br />of the structure in conformance with the City's standard procedures, and to thereafter utilize the <br />aforesaid property as the City Council deems appropriate; NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things <br />approved. <br /> <br />Section 2. That the donation of Haskell Bratcher and Elaine Bratcher of Lot 7, City Block <br />90-A located at 603 3rd Street N.W., described in the deed attached hereto as Exhibit A, be, and the <br />same is hereby, in all things accepted. <br /> <br />Section 3.
